Third Period Survey Questions: Favorite Movie?
Homework:
Stories and Plays due Friday.
Zines due Tuesday
Wednesday Notes: We have worked hard on our writing today. I’m getting really excited about reading your work. How’s your writing project coming?
Tuesday Notes: We finished Milkweed today in first period. And we finished Al Capone Does My Shirts in third period. Two fantastic books. I think Milkweed is Spinelli’s finest. (My answer to the survey question: My favorite movie might be Sense and Sensibility).
Monday Notes: We had a long stretch of writing time today. Are any of you going to be able to go to the after school rehearsal tomorrow?

Today we found some poems for our pockets. And we had a brilliant dress rehearsal. Now it’s time for Carnival. This is a Fun Friday if ever I’ve seen one. Happy Weekend, Sixers and Cincos!

Tuesday Notes: Today first period read an article about a Broncos Fan. Second Period read about a community where Louisa May Alcott lived. And Third Period read about the National Theater of the Deaf. I’m getting another cold. But maybe it’s just allergies? I’ll probably never know.

Greetings all,
Remember to work on the next two pages of your writing project, first and third period peeps. DUE FRIDAY! And second period, you will have 5 zine pieces by Friday, correct?
Tuesday Notes Oh No! I forgot to have the third period peeps think of a blog question. We will have to do that next week. Today we had time to READ and WRITE. It doesn’t get much better than that, does it???

Homework?
Notetaking note making sheet. It’s NOW due on Monday.
Thursday Notes: I hope you’re not MOROSE about this cold weather! We learned a new word today. We also worked in our writer’s notebooks. Then we wrapped up the day by working on our writer’s projects. How are you all doing on your NTNM sheet?
Wednesday Notes: Not much to report today. After DEAR, we had a chunk of work time. I hope you were able to get some work done. I introduced a non-fiction project, but that will be on the back burner for now. I’m not too happy about this weather, to tell you the truth.
Tuesday Notes: We started our classes with read aloud time. First period talked about “snapshots” in writing and looked for some of these in our published stories. Second period talked more about Clearwater School. I shared some of my favorite zine pieces. We wrote outside in windy weather. I wrote about wind, as a matter of fact. Third period worked more on play formatting and read a short scene with partners. I’m enjoying the editing work. You are all fabulous writers.
Monday Notes: The fifth graders are off to Bradford Woods. Felt a little strange without them. In first period, we read a picture book about racism and made different inferences about each page. In second period, we read an article about “the perfect school.” And third period writers read about play writing and then read a short scene with a partner. We also wrote down some rules for using quotation marks. A grand start to a grand week? I believe so.
