Monday Notes: We worked with Professor Lewison, reading and interpreting political cartoons. We started a new read aloud called Room One. It’s going to be good! Forms for Parent Teacher conferences went home today, so make sure you share those with your families.

Wednesday Notes: We had art and music today. It was a treat to hear our class playing their recorders. Well done! We are making a bulletin board about the Little Rock Nine to teach other kids in the school about these legendary people!
Tuesday Notes: After walking our lap, we did some observations of the garden today. The SADAKO group had a great literature discussion. We did some slate work, reviewing apostrophes, commas and other punctuation pals.
Monday Notes: Today Officer Friendly came and talked to both the third graders and the fourth graders. What do you remember from his talk? We learned about comparison adjectives with our spelling words. We read a book called, “This School Is Not White,” based on a true story. I liked the comparisons you made with other books we’ve read this year. Good job, 201!

Friday Notes: the big news of the day? We saw the Wild Animal Show. We saw a parrot, a baboon, a komodo dragon, a wolf and a python. Yay. We also helped out with the
first graders, making flip books about apple trees. The day went well, but we didn’t have time for our extra recess, so get ready for that on Monday!
Thursday Notes: We had another great day. We wrote more about the Little Rock Nine. 201′ers are doing a great job mixing in facts we’ve learned in their plays. We also started our power point presentations at computer lab. Remember to bring your red folders back tomorrow!
Wednesday Notes: Today was fantastic. We worked with partners to solve math problems in the morning. In the afternoon, we learned more about the Little Rock Nine and what they’ve done as grown-ups. Thanks for making that poster, J.G.! The Music of Dolphins group talked about Mila’s changes. And the other literature groups worked really hard independently. AWESOME! The YMCA people came and we learned a game called “Cowardly Lion.” B.B. was the big winner. I didn’t do so well. Happy Writer’s Wednesday!
Tuesday Notes: Red folders went home today. We had a great visit with the YMCA teachers. We talked about “Energy In and Energy Out.” We also had a visit with Professor Lewison. We talked about political cartoons.
