Monday Notes: Today was a great Monday. We worked hard on our math classes and we worked on spelling work with our white boards. In the afternoon we read and wrote about Inventions from 2007 in Time For Kids. Did you have a favorite? Retta came in and helped us with our holiday project. THANKS, RETTA! We ended the day by reading with our book buddies. Hoorah!

Tuesday Notes: We finished No Talking by Andrew Clements. Then we had our own “No Talking” challenge. It was a little odd teaching such silent students, but maybe I could get used to it?

Wednesday Notes: The characters in No Talking were inspired by Gandhi, so today we read a picture book biography about him. 201′ers are doing wonderfully well in their literature logs. Chalkbox Kid group met today. Well done, readers! The YMCA taught us some new games at the end of the day. They definitely give us a work out.

Snow, anyone?

Thursday Notes:  Today was Community Day.  We had quite a few visitors popping in to 201.  Raekwon and Jessie did a great job as tour guides.  Then our wonderful singers, dancers and musicians performed for the whole school.  Our class had so many performers up there.  I was bursting with PRIDE!!! The Chalkbox Kid literature group met for a great chat.  At the end of the day, we went to computer lab and visited the websites listed below.  We are doing great!!!

Wednesday Notes:  The YMCA taught us an extremely ACTIVE game today.  It was fun.  We had a fantastic literature circle talk about Flip Flop Girl.  We also discussed a new book called Carpet Maker’s Gift.  How are you enjoying your literature book?

Tuesday Notes:  We did an AWESOME job with our political cartoons and our book reviews.  Everyone worked hard in their literature log today as well.  The TRINORTH band came and gave an awesome concert.  The YMCA talked about the importance of keeping our lungs healthy.  We had a chilly, but fun walk around our block.

Monday Notes:  I’ve been horrible about the blogging lately, but I’m going to get back into gear.

Today we imagined life as a Miami Indian in this area in the year of 1811 and then we wrote letters

about losing our land.  We also worked on book reviews and visited our book buddies.

Hope you all are well!!!  I would like some snow.  Do you think we’ll get some???
