Week of November 10
Tuesday, November 11th, 2008Monday Notes: In the morning we wrote book reviews. We played a game with big numbers yesterday. We read numbers into the millions. We took a picture walk and talked about 16 Years in 16 Seconds. That will be our next podcast book. We had apples for snack. Thanks, PTO!
Wednesday Notes; We had social studies with Ms. Streib’s class. We learned about this question: What was Monroe County like before people lived here? We worked hard on our writing projects in the morning. We went to the “megapenny” project online during math. One billion pennies takes up a lot of space!
Friday Notes: We worked on book reports in the morning. After that we headed to the computer lab and did mini-research about bison, glaciers, passenger pigeons and Canada. After lunch, two speakers came to talk to us about staying “Tobacco Free.” During social studies, we went back in time, to Monroe County in 8,000 BC. We sent post cards home, telling everyone what we saw there. The post cards were FANTASTIC!
