Week of May 4

Tuesday: 3 sentence snapshots.  Writers use them all the time, so we gave them a try with our own stories.  In the afternoon we had an acuity test.  We worked in our lit. logs finishing up.  During recess, we are learning how to crochet.  It’s slow going, but we’ll get the hang of it.  We had an awesome Tuesday.

Wednesday Notes:  Student Reporters!

Ethan:  I like power groups and math.  I also like crocheting.  It is so, so fun.

Briana:  I liked the movie.  It was a good movie about baby animals.

Bri: I liked crocheting.  It was awesome.  You should teach your kid to crochet.

Brooklynn:  I loved math today.  I also loved how we crocheted.

Alex:  Gym was so fun.  And writer’s workshop was fun too.

Christiana:  I loved the video about the animals.  And I love love love power groups!

Andrey:  I loved writing.  Math went really well.

Allijah:  I loved today’s science and math and reading and writing.  I just liked all of today!

Dorian:  I liked the movie.

Tristin:  We watched a movie about different animals.

Cassidy:  I liked when we acted like kids from Afghanistan to get ready for our next podcast.

Tionna:  Yesterday we started crocheting.  I did not know how to crochet the first time.  But I tried and tried until I got it right.  I was happy when I found out how to crochet.  It was very cool.  So watch out.  Here comes the crochet queen.

Thursday Notes:  In the morning we had a LONG Writer’s Workshop.  We worked on letters, podcast scripts and stories.  In the afternoon, we got to go to the Science Share.  The sixth graders did an awesome job with their experiments.  We started working on long division in the afternoon.  A great day!
