Week of September 8

We are writing haiku, too!

Monday Notes:  Wow! Today was BUSY!!!!  After we read about Frederick Douglass, the Horrible Harry lit. log group met with Ms. H. and the rest of the class worked with Ms. S. on their book posters and our haiku.  We wrote our new spelling words.  In math, we are getting ready for our chapter 2 test.  After our review, we cut out ads and put the prices in the ads from least to greatest. Ms. Lewis came by for Second Steps.  We talked about ways to share your thoughts with others.  A happy Monday!

Tuesday Notes:  We listened to our Virgie podcast today and read all the compliments and comments people have sent our way.  Then we worked hard on finishing up a few writing projects.  In the afternoon, we reviewed for our math test.  The Matthew Jackson literature group met and began reading their new book.  At recess, we got to see a dead copperhead snake!  Thanks, Mrs. Fleser!

Wednesday:  We started out the day with art and gym.  Then we worked on our making inferences about a poem about a girl who caught a ladybug. It was nice to PAINT this morning with our watercolors.  The haiku art work turned out great.  We took a math test in the afternoon.  We ended the day with power groups.  We got a lot done!

Thursday:  Woohoo! We worked hard on our portfolios today.  They look great.  Ms. Montgomery and we worked hard on our new podcast about Frederick Douglass.  We visited a website about the life of Frederick Douglass.  Ms. Solomons is reading a book called Show Way to us.
